1. Critical thinking: The process of breaking down a fact into parts to form one’s judgment. The breaking down of the fact is known as analysis. Before one can form a good judgment, this process should also involve some kind of synthesis which is the combination of the broken down parts to form a new whole after which the new whole should be tested or applied until a new fact is confidently arrived at.
2. Analysis: A detailed breakdown or examination of any complex thing in order to better understand its nature. For example, an analysis of soil would mean examining the soil carefully to understand the components that it is made up of.
3. Synthesis: A unique combination of various parts or elements to form a new whole.
4. Application: The act of putting something to use, such as a newly created idea or concept with the aim of solving a problem.
5. Problem-solving: The process or act of applying an idea or concept after analysis and synthesis have been completed, to find a solution to a problem.
